3005 <br /> MEETING OF AUGUST 27, 1970 <br /> The regular meeting of August 27, 1970 was calledto order at 7:15 P.M. with the <br /> following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Black, Ecklund <br /> and Stone. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. <br /> Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the August 13, 1970 meeting <br /> be approved as corrected. Black seconded and the motion <br /> carried. <br /> Letter From Taylor read a letter from Paul Grossing, 181 Arona Avenue, <br /> Paul Grossing - stating sewer stoppage caused by boulevard tree root growth. <br /> Sewer Stoppage: He asked that the condition be remedied and that he be <br /> reimbursed for most recent sewer cleaning expense. The <br /> matter was referred to Engineer Lemberg. <br /> Letter from Dale Taylor read a copy of a letter from Dale Bergstedt, 1b59 <br /> Bergstedt - Maple Knoll Drive, addressed to Sheriff Kermit Heilman in <br /> Commending which he commended Deputy L. A. Dittel for his courteous <br /> Deputy Dittel: manner when ticketing their daughter for speeding. <br /> Letter From League Taylor read a letter from Thomas J. Curley, President of <br /> of Municipalities - Ramsey County League of Municipalities, asking that Village <br /> Share of Study of Falcon Heights pay $2.7.52, its share of the cost of <br /> Costs: preliminary study of the Water Rate Study Committee report <br /> submitted by Hazen and Compar~y. Black moved that the <br /> bill be paid. Warkentien seconded and the motion carried. <br />Letter From Taylor read a letter from Richard J. Dougherty of the <br />Metropolitan Metropolitan Sewer Board. On advice of Engineer Lemberg, <br />Sewer Board - Black moved that Taylor be authorized to request a member <br />Falcon Heights - of the Metropolitan Sewer Board attend a meeting of the <br />St. Paul Falcon Heights Village Council in the near future to ex- <br />Agreement: plain the material forwarded with the letter of August 11~, <br />1970, also that he be in a position to compare the proposed <br />agreement with the present agreement which Falcon Heights <br />has with the City of St. Paul. Warkentien seconded and <br />the motion carried. <br />C. L. Carlson, C. L. Carlson, Director of University Gro~re Services, <br />Director of appeared to discuss real estate taxes paid by, and Village <br />University Grove services rendered to, residents of University Grove. He <br />Services - asked that a meeting be held to exchange ideas. Upon a vote being taken, the resolution <br />Resolution 70-15: was declared unanimously passed. <br />The Village Council hereby finds and determines and <br />declares that adequate refuse collection service is avaa.l- <br />able to all of the residents of the Village of Falcon Heights <br />in accordance with the Air Pollution Control regulations of <br />the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br />
