2191 <br />REGULAR iy4EETING OF DECE!~4BBR 9, 19611 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:20 P.~~~i. with the following <br />members being present: Mayor Harold C. Nilsen; Clark W. A. I~~ortenson; <br />Trustees Willis Warlcentien, Charles Stone and William Black. Also present <br />were Treasurer William Olsen, Enginaar Brad Lemberg, Attorney Michael Galvin, <br />and Deputy Clerk Tina Vavoulis. <br />Mrs. Norma Frances represented the League of Woman Voters. <br />Stone moved, Black seconded that the minutes of the meeting of November 18, 19611 <br />be approved. Carried. <br />Correspondence: <br />Speeding on Ruggles Letter from Collin Alexander of 1868 Arona inquired <br />and Arona: as to the action taken to remedy speeding at the <br />intersection of Ruggles and Arona. Ha will be advised <br />that the Village has planned for radar and 1965 should <br />see it in operation. <br />Governor Karl F. Letter from Governor Karl F. Rolvaag urging municipal <br />Rolvaag -Civil officials to attend conferences on Civil Defense vrhich <br />Defense Conference: the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota T3epartment <br />of Civil Defense era conducting was read. <br />License Application for Having mat the requirements, Mortenson moved; Nils en <br />Gasoline Filling Station seconded that License No. 128 be gran#ad to Roy A. <br />Operators McComb to operate a Gasoline Filling Station at 1670 <br />North Snelling Avenue for the period until July lst~ <br />1965. Motian carried. _ <br />Opening of Bids - Pursuant to written invitation to bid on the 1966 <br />1965 Purchases of requirenents of gasoline, oil, filters, etc. bids were <br />Gasoline, Oil, received and opened at 7;30 P.M. from the following <br />Filters, etc.: gasoline filling stations: <br />Falcon Heights Cities Serv. Station 1670 Snelling <br />Falcon Oil Company 1350 Vr. Larpenteur <br />Shell Oil Gompany 1.07 W. Larpenteur <br />Garnet's Standard Service 1691 N. Snelling <br />Stone moved, seconded by Black that the bid for gasoline, <br />oil, filters, lubrication and other normal maintenance <br />service required by the squad car, fire trucks, and <br />maintenance truck be awarded to the Falcon Heights Cities <br />Service Station. Upon a vote being taken, the following <br />voted in favors Nils en, Mortenson, Stone, Warkentien, and <br />Black, and the follawing voted against: None. The motion <br />was carried. <br />Citizens Recreational William Korstad, chairman of the Citizens Recreational <br />Advisory Committee: Advisory Committee, and Mrs. Billie Foreman were in <br />attendance. This Gonun.ittee has received oral approval <br />to use University property for two additional skating <br />rinks this year„ One suggested location is the experi- <br />mental ground just off Garden and Fry Avenues; the other <br />suggested location is on Coffman Avenue in University <br />Grove.
