2509 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 9, 1967 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P,M, with the following members present: <br />Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist, Councilmen Warkentien, Black and Stone. Also <br />present were Attorney Galvin, Treasurer Olsen and Engineer Lemberg. <br />Mrs. L. Deuthman was present as observer of League of Women Voters.. Cari Carter <br />from Suburban Newspapers was also present. <br />Minutes: Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that the minutes of the <br />meeting of January 13, 1967 be approved as corrected. <br />Motion was carried. <br />Warkentien moved, seconded by Stone that the minutes of the <br />meeting of January 25, 1967 be approved as corrected. <br />b4otion was carried, <br /> Justice of Peace Strandquist moved, seconded by Stone that council approve <br /> Bond Approved: U. S. Fiddlity and Guaranty Company bond covering Justice of <br /> the Peace Beardsley. Ayes: A11, Nayss None. Motion was <br /> carried. Attorney will file copy of bond with the Clerk of <br /> District Court and the Secretary of State. <br /> Correspondence: <br /> Ramsey County Memorandum of January 30, 1967 from Ramsey County League of <br /> League Dues: Pdunicipalities stated that dues for 1967 show a ten per cent <br /> reduction. <br /> Claim for Damage <br />from Snow Plow: Letter dated January 30, 1967 from William K. Snow plow picked up sod and <br /> wheels of plow went through middle of Mugo Pines breaking <br /> both evergreens in half. <br /> Sewer Rate Letter from Jack Stadler of St. Paul Bureau of Valuations <br /> Charges 1582 .regarding overcharges made on sewer rental for 1582 Hollywood <br /> Hollywood Courts Court, permit number l~61, advised that size of meter has <br /> been corrected to show 5~8" meter on Bureau's records. <br /> Fire Chief Report:. Fire Chief Al Helbig was present and his report dated February <br /> 9, 1967 was read.. Request for council approval to purchase <br /> radio equipment for fire trucks was tabled until union <br /> negotiations between village and employees are settled and <br /> amount of money involved is known, <br /> Purchase of nevi Stone moved that the Fire Department be authorized to purchase <br /> Light Plant: one new 2500 Watt light plant from Onan Corp. to replace the <br /> present light plant which is non-repairable. Fire Chief <br /> shall turn over fire department funds in amount of X150.00 <br /> to be applied to this purchase and the village share from <br /> the general fund account shall not exceed $200.00. Motion. <br /> was seconded by ~rdarkentien. Ayes: A11. Nays: None. <br /> Motion was carried. <br /> Fire Department Discussion was held regarding Helbig's report of February 9 <br /> Relief Association which included request that council write to State Senator <br /> Pension: Ashbach concerning File Department Relief Association's <br /> request to raise pensions.
