J~=~-~~, <br />1 <br />1 <br />REGULAR. MEETING, THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 1958 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:40 P.M., the following council members <br />being present: Harold C. Nilsen; Mayor, George J. Shavor, Trustee; <br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee and William R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present: <br />William E. Olsen, Treasurer; Frank N. Graham, Attorney; and Ethel White, <br />Assistant Clerk. <br />The minutes of the January 2, 1958 meeting were ordered approved as <br />submitted with the correction on page 947 changing the estimated cost <br />of the engine repairs to $75.00. <br />Mark J. <br />Hindermann, <br />Justice of Peace <br />Bond <br />Planning <br />Commissioner <br />Mark J. Hindermann was present and was sworn in as <br />Justice of the Peace. <br />After discussion, Shavor moved that the Justice of <br />the Peace bond for Mark J. Hindermann be set at <br />$1,000, and that a two-year bond be procured through <br />the Keller Corporation. Seconded by Nilsen and motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Nilsen suggested that Leo S. Ohman, 1635 Garden <br />Avenue be appointed a member of the Village Planning <br />Commission to succeed Mr. Gallaher whose term expired <br />December 31, 1957 and who feels he cannot serve on <br />the Planning Commission further because of the press <br />of business. Shavor moved that Leo S. Ohman be ap- <br />pointed to the Village Planning Commission for a term <br />expiring December 31, 1960. Seconded by Utecht and <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Street and Nilsen moved that W. L. Hindermann, 1512 California <br />Drainage Com- Avenue and E. J. Pennig, Sr., 1795 Fry Street, be <br />mission appointed as a two-man Street and Drainage Commission <br />for the Village on a consultant basis. Seconded by <br />Utecht and motion carried unanimously. <br />Milner W. Carley A letter of Milner W. Carley &.Associates dated <br />do Associates- January 9, 1958 containing a proposal for furnishing <br />Village Engineers the Village engineering services was read and dis- <br />cussed by the Council with Mr. L~ungren who was present <br />at the meeting. After discussion, Utecht moved that <br />Milner W. Carley k Associates be engaged as Village <br />Engineers for the year 1958 in accordance with their <br />proposal dated January 9, 1958. Seconded by Shavor <br />and motion carried unanimously. <br />Board of Health Nilsen reported that h~ was working on appointments <br />to the Village Beard of Health. A letter from Mrs. <br />M. Mueller dated January 7, 1958, enclosing a League <br />of Women Voters' report on Clean Surroundings,, was <br />read and the report will be circulated among the <br />councilmen. <br />
