<br /> 1129 <br /> REGiTLAR MEETING JANUARY 8th, 1959. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7 P. M., the following Council Members being present: <br />Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, Trustee and <br />Paul Coppini, Trustee. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney, Wm. <br />E. Olsen, Treasurer and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />Acting Mayor Nominations for the office of Acting Mayor for 1959 were called for. <br /> George J, Shavor was nominated. There being no further nominations, <br /> George J. Shavor was duly and unanimously appointed to the office of <br /> Acting Mayor for 1959. <br />Village Nilsen moved that the firm of Briggs, Gilbert, Morton, Kyle & <br />Attorneys Macartney be engaged as Village Attorneys for the year 1959. Second- <br /> ed by Utecht and motion carried unanimously. <br />Deputy Clerk Upon the request of the Village Clerk and after discussion, Warken- <br /> tien moved that the Village Clerk be authorized to appoint a Deputy <br /> Clerk. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Village Clerk then reported that he appointed Ethel E. White as <br /> Deputy Clerk of the Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Deputy Upon the request of the Village Treasurer and after discussion, <br />Treasurer Coppini moved that the Village Treasurer be authorized to appoint <br /> a Deputy Treasurer. Seconded by Warkentien and motion carried un- <br /> animously. <br /> The Village Treasurer then a-~pointed Ethel E. White Deputy Treasurer <br /> of the Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Bonds After discussion, Nilsen moved th a±, the Village Clerk's bond be <br /> sat at X500.00, and that it be renewed for a tyro year period, That <br /> the Deputy Clerk's bond be set at X1000.00 and that it be renewed <br /> for one year. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried unanimously. <br />Financial In connection with preparing the financial statement for the year <br />statement ended December 31st, 1958, Shavor moved that the Clerk and Treasurer <br /> be authorized to arrange for assistance on the same basis as last <br /> year, to publish the said financial statement in the lase Tribune <br /> and to see that all necessary work be done in connection with the <br /> financial statement. to see that the accounts of Clerk Wm. R. Utecht <br /> are approved. Seconded by Co;opini and motion carried unanimously. <br />Legal News- The following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote on motion <br />paper by Utecht, seconded by Shavor: <br /> RESOLVED, That the Rose Tribune, a legal newspaper of general eir'- <br /> culation in the Village of Falcon Heights be and hereby is desig- <br /> nated as the official newspaper of the Village of Falcon Heights., <br /> in-which shall be published such ordinances and other matters as are <br /> required by law to be so published, and such matters as the Council <br /> may deem it advisable and in the public interest to have published <br /> in this manner for the year 1959. <br />Depositories The following resolution was moved by Warkentien' seconded by Shavor <br /> and adopted unanimously. <br /> RESOLVED, That the Falcon Heights State Bank of Falcon Heights, J <br />Y <br />
