Shavor, Trustee; tiVillis Warkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppin, Trustee and ~Jdm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank <br />N. Graham, Village Attorney, Vern Ljun~*ren, Village Engineer, Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer, <br />and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />. ~~~~~ <br />Traffic Letter of June 5th written by Warkentien to P~;Zayor Nilsen was read and <br />filed for future reference, the clerk being instructed to mail a copy <br />to C. L. Larson, Chairman West Falcon Heights Playground Committee. <br />Variance Dr. Robt. K. Grau, 1628 h~aple Knoll Drive, appeared before the Council <br />to request a variance permitting him to build a fence as per plan sub- <br />mitted, copy of which is filed with letter of request. While the plan <br />does not comply strictly with the provisions of Ordinance No. 10 re- <br />lating to the height of fences, it was moved by Utecht and seconded by <br />Warkentien that the followin;; resolution be adopted= <br />RESOLVED that the request of Dr. Robt. K. Grau for a variance to permit <br />the erection of a redwood fence in his back yard according to plans and <br />specifications submit±.ed is hereby granted since the Council finds that <br />the granting of such variance will not materially affect adversely <br />health, safety or general welfare or public or private property. <br /> The following vote was recorded: Harold C. Graham. <br />Police Public Safety Commissioner Ax'ndt advised that Patrolman Jerome Johnson <br /> has offered to work for daytime men when they vrish to take time off. <br /> Johnson is to be paid at, the rate of $2.00 an hour. <br /> It eras agreed that the Village would pay any Roseville Policeman <br /> who came to Falcon Heights to testify on a "Driving while under the <br /> Influence" case to the extent of X15.00. <br /> The Clerk was requested to make copies of Chapter 1.109 H. P, No. 903 <br /> for Arndt and Graham. <br />Arndt said the Village of Falcon Ne~~hts is expected to help with <br />Traffic Control during; fikte rush hours while Larpenteur is being con- <br />structed and that the various departmeMts are working together. <br />Utecht reported "drag racing" on Pase~.l. Police will try to get <br />offenders. <br />Rehnwall Mrs. Rehnwall anpear~d before the GCtunci], to ask an adjustment of her <br />Sewer In- sewer connection charge. She stated the extra cost was X137.00. She <br />stallation feels she should be ably tq cvr~nect to .the sewer without extra expense <br />or the assessment should be adjusted. Shavor and Nilsen pointed out <br />that to run the sewer low enott~h to ta~~cie care of the few houses with <br />unusually low basements would probably have cost the Village an extra <br />
