u <br />REGULAR T`EETING DECEr.TBER 10th, 1959. <br />~~eeting was called to order ~t 7z35 P. ~;~., the following Council P:Tembers <br />being presents Harold C. Atilsen, D:7ayor; George Shavor, Trustee; ti'Tillis <br />Vlarkentien, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and V'm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also <br />present were Frank P1, Graham Village Attorney, iPTm, E. Olsen, Treasurer; Nick <br />Christensen, ~3uilding Inspector and Ethel E. V~rhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy <br />Treasurer. <br />The P.?inutes of the Regular i~;?eetin~ of November 2l.~th were approved as submitted, <br />Skating Utecht reported he had had several requests to flood the two vacant <br />Rinks lots at the corner of Pascal and Larpenteur. The Deputy Clerk was <br />instructed. to contact the owners asking their permission and offer- <br />ing to keep the weeds cut during the vreed season in return for the <br />privilege of using the lots as a skating rink each winter until <br />buildings are erected. <br />Visitors Janet Cimbura and ?!.1ary Ellen Dachtera, World Affairs Class, <br />Ramsey High Cchool were present. Also the following boys from Boy <br />Scout Troup 213 who are now studying citizenship: James Heille, 1533 <br />Sheldon, St. Faul; P.~t Sheehan, 1503 W. Hoyt, Falcon Heights; <br />Stephen Tschida, 1L~15 No. Albert, St. Paul; Dennis Hanson, 1502 <br />'y`3. Idaho, Falcon Heights and Dennis Amrihien, 1395 Arona, St. Paul. <br />~~ayor Nilsen welcomed the young people and told them not to hesitate <br />to speak up if they had any questions. <br />Insurance Utecht reported the bids for insurance had been referred to Frank <br />Graham for checking; that Graham had checked them, found j:1ut.,.ual <br />Service Casualty Insurance Company's bid low, and that the order <br />for insurance had been rriven to ?!,4utual Service Casualty. It was <br />moved by Coppini, seconded by Nilsen and. unanimously voted that <br />the awarding of the bid for insurance to r'?utual Service Casualty <br />Insurance Company be approved, <br />Newspaper It was moved. by Utect, seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted <br />Publicity that copies of the P.~inutes be sent to the Rose Tribune where they <br />will go over them and write up a news story for public~.~tan as news, <br />Penalty better from Dr. ''asil regarding sewer rental penalty charge was <br />Sewer read and the clerk instructed to write Dr. basil advising him <br />Rental that, according to the ordinance, the Village has no alternative in <br />the -utter of charging penalties -- if the bill is not paid on time, <br />we must charge the penalty and, if necessary, certify the amount <br />of the penalty to the County Auditor for collection vrith taxes. <br />Greater Letter from David P. Cartwright was read. It advised that .the <br />St. Paul Greater St. Paul Safety Council meetings have been changed to <br />Safety one meeting a month; that, he will continue to attend next year if <br />Council the Council feels Village representation is desirable. Further <br />efforts Drill be made for an organization in the suburbs, especially <br />among high school s+„adepts. I±- was moved by Nilsen, seconded by <br />Coppini and unanimously voted that Cartwright be asked to attend <br />the Safety Council ~+Teetings, as Falcon Heights' representative, <br />again during 1960. <br />Dog com- The dog complaints were read.. It i^aas moved by Utecht, seconded <br />plaints by Coppini and unanimously voted to refer the dog complaints to <br />Varkentien who will have the policeman investigate them, <br />
