.. 1103 <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 28th, 1960. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7s00 P. M., the folloaring Council Members <br />being presents Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee and Paul <br />Coppini, Trustee. Also present were Otto Bonestroo, Village Engineer; Frank <br />N. Graham, Village Attorney; Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer and Ethel E. White, Dep. <br />Clk. and Dep. Treas. Absent. Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk and Willis Warkentien, <br />Trustee. <br />The Minutes of the special meeting of April 7th, 1960 were approved as submitted. <br />The Minutes of the Special Meeting of April 12th were approved as submittedo <br />The Minutes of the Regular meeting of April 15th were approved as submitted. <br />Curbing P~Ir. & Mrs, W. 0. Kjeldsen, 1lt116 California, new owners of <br /> the Eagle Manor Apartment Building at 168$ Arona were present. <br /> They inquired as to the advisability of putting curbing across <br /> their property on Arona. It was suggested that they wait until <br /> such time as the Village Engineer determines proper grade for <br /> Arona and completes plans for storm server. The matter was <br /> turned over to Engineer Bonestroo for study and report later. <br />Vacation Norman Johnson was present. Possible solutions to the problem <br />alley between were discussed and Mr. Johnson was advised they would notify <br />Holton & him and others interested when the date for the Hearing was set. <br />Pascal <br />Watermain Geo. Gasparro, Nick Labalestra, Dr. and Mrs. Sano were present. <br />Tatum They requested that watermain be extended about 350' north of <br /> Larpenteur. Mayor Nilsen suggested that the watermain be ex- <br /> tended through the empty lots while the job is being done. <br /> Further study will be given the matter and an effort will be <br /> made to contact the owners of the empty lots. <br />Hermes Bus- There was a delegation of about 8 people present from St. <br />iness proper- rdary's and Snelling Drive ., ~ -, They complained about water <br />tY from Hermes' buildings running on to their lots and flooding <br /> yards and hardens; unsightliness of the parking lot; the des- <br /> truction of trees and shrubs b,y trucks going through the alley; <br /> the hazard and unsightliness of used appliances stored behind <br /> the appliance store. It was also brought out that deeds <br /> specify this as residential property; they were not aware of <br /> the petition to rezone; and they were protesting the rezoning, <br /> Mayor Nilsen suggested that some of their group join him in a <br /> meeting with Hermes and see if they couldn't negotiate an <br /> agreement with Hermes. It was agreed. that Mr. Conlon would <br /> accompany Pgayor Nilsen for this interview - Conlon to advise <br /> Nilsen of an appropriate time. Attorney Graham will check <br /> St. Paul's Ordinance It28.01 requiring the removal of doors on <br /> abandoned refrigerators. It was further reported that one store <br /> has a service dex~artment in the basement which is certainly a <br /> fire hazard. The drainage problem was referred to Bonestroo, the <br />Village Engineer. <br />Vacation At this point the regular meeting was recessed to continue the <br />Walkway Hearing on the vacation of the walkway as petitioned by Harold <br />Holton to Imhoff and others. <br />Pascal No of <br />Ruggles, Bob Kjelland and ('rlen Harjung were present.
