1699 <br />SPECIAL ;~1ILETSNG JANUARY ~, 1962. <br />Special T.?eeting was called to order at 7:30 P. ?~?. , the follovaing Council ?~?embers <br />being presents Harold C. Nilsen, '~?ayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Willis '~'~~arken- <br />tien, Trustee; Charles Stone, Trustee; W. A. ~.?ortenson, Clerk. .Also present ~^Jas <br />Ethel E. u:jhi+..e, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absents V;'m. E. Olsen, Treas. <br />License All requirements having been r~et, it ti,ras moved by 1?ortenson, <br />seconded. by Shavor and voted to issue ~~~aster Gas Installer's <br />License #159 to R. E. Peterson, dba Twin City Furnace Co., 195 <br />No. Snelling, St. Faul, ~., t:iinneso+,a. <br />Inspector, Edward LaPointe and Ed Salverda were present. There was a dis- <br />Electrical cussion regarding inspections on electrical work. Mr. LaPointe <br /> presented copy of a letter from the State Board of Electricity to <br /> all electrical contractors doing work in Lauderdale and Falcon <br /> Heights advising tha±, effective July 1, 1961, the electrical <br /> inspector would be ';?r. Edward LaPointe, 1591 Illontreal, St. Paul, <br /> <?innesota. After discussion, it was agreed that there would be no <br /> advantage to the Village by appointing a Village inspector and <br /> decided to continue on with h?r. LaPointe, the State inspector. <br />Council ~~?ayor Nilsen presented su~~gested "Grder of Proceedings" specifying <br />":?eetings call to order at 7:00 P. "~S. , routine Village ~y ork until 8 :00 P. i4". <br /> <br />1962 , <br />Citizen's time x:00 P. h?. (all are urged to attend balance of <br /> meeting) Recess 9:30, Unfinished business 9:l~0, New Business, <br /> Adjournment 10:~i5 P. P?. <br />Sewer The Deputy clerk was instructed to write resident at 1516 W. Iowa <br /> advising tha+; the sewer situation ~t 15l~0 Iowa had been corrected <br /> (there had been a fault in +.,he line from the main to ±he boulevard <br /> and said line has been relaid) and requesting that he nova have his <br /> sewer connected. <br />Taxes The deputyclerk was instructed to call Ronald Powers asking for <br /> additional conies of report shovaing increases and.`~decreases in the <br /> tax rate on 91,000.00 assessed valuation. <br />Insurance i:4ortenson reported on his conversation with Freitag of the insurance <br />Rates Underwriter's. <br />Deputy Upon the request, of +„he Village Clerk, and after discussion, ~~~~ar- <br />Clerk kentien moved that the Village Clerk be authorized to appoint a <br /> Deputy Clark. aeconded by Shavor and carried unanimously. <br /> The Clerk then appointed Sahel E. tiJhite as Deputy Clerk of the <br />Deputy Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Treasurer <br /> Upon the request of the Village Treasurer, and after discussion, <br /> Nilsen moved that the Village Treasurer be authorized to appoint <br /> a Deputy Treasurer. Seconded by Stone and carried unanimously. <br /> Treasurer Olsen then appointed Ethel E• lrt~lltP,, Deputy Treasurer <br /> of the Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Police It was moved by Vlarkentien, seconded by Stone and voted to appoint <br />Commissioner Donald E. Arndt as Policy Commissioner for the year 1962. <br />
