1796 <br />RDGULAR MEETING AUGUST 22nd, 1962. <br />Meeting xas called to order at 7 P. ~.,-the folloxing Council .Members being <br />presents Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; ~. A. Mortenson, Clerk; George J. Shavor, <br />Trustee. Also present xere M. J. Galvin, Village~Attorney; Brad Lemberg, Village <br />Engineer; 1R!n. E. Olsen, Treasurer; and Ethel E. Nhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy <br />Treasurer. Absents W311is IRarkentien, Trustee; and Charles P. Stone, Trustee. <br />On motion by Shavor, seconded by Mortenson, the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />August 1st xere approved as eubnsitted. <br />On motion by Shavor, seconded by Mortenaon, the Minutes of the Special Meeting of <br />August 7th xere approved as submitted, <br />Trees: Don Arndt x111 inspect the FSns in front of 1ls6is X. California xi9lch <br />xas reported as splitting and unhealthy looking. <br />Douglas Reea Letter of August 9th from Douglas Rees xas read. It brought out the <br />Business following pointsa They feel they should retain the present angle <br />Blocks parking, combined xith one-+way travel, xestward between the sidexalk <br />and the property line. They x111 proceed as rer the Village plan as <br />to the parking lot east of the bakery and the corner parking lot zest <br />of the ns~w store. Buffer area should be maintained in front of the <br />main entrance of new store. -One xay drive-out curb cut should be <br />preservedc Present drive-in curb cut near the corner should also be <br />preserved for use of the corner lot (in only). He has xritten the <br />Goodwill Society to remove their collection box. He requests that <br />the green raper and trash receptacle be removed, When blacktopping <br />fa conspleted, they rill do a thorough fob of striping including• <br />directional arrows .and painted traffic signs. He sugPeats3 brighter <br />lighting.for the business district. <br />Iowa Curb At 8 o'clock, Clerk Mortenson read Ad for Bids as published in the <br />and gutter Roee Tribune and Construction Bulletin. Mayor Nilsen asked if all <br />bidet bide xere on the table. They xere. Engineer Lemberg then opened <br />and read. the folloxing bides <br />Art Holier {brat. Co., 5612 Carvallis Avenue, 1inneapolis, Ninn. <br />(Bid xas accompanied by bid bond in the amount of 576 of bid) <br />Start xork 10 days.
