Rowley, Deputy Clerk <br />Ralph Van Hoven, Treasurer <br />Absent: <br />Art Lindig, Trustee <br />The meeting was called to order by President Matteson at 7:30 p.m. <br />Resume of meeting of Matteson gave a brief resume of the special meeting called <br />June 4 Saturday, June 4, inasmuch as no minutes were taken of this <br />meeting. Briefly the matters discussed were as follows: <br />1. A letter dated Jur_G 2 had been received from Middlebrook ad- <br />vising tha±. he w~~a agreeable to a second renewal of 15 years <br />at the option of the vill.a~;e for the 1CasC of the property <br />on Larpcrteur Avenue for the village hall and fire station. <br />This provision would give a total. 1CasC of 45 years. The <br />rental under this lease for the first 30 ,years would be <br />fixed at '~15 p-r year. Bcginnin~; wits the 30th year tY•e <br />rental charge would be fixed at a sum equal to 2f of the ap- <br />praised value at that time of the land as determined by the <br />~t. Paul Realstate Board. <br />2. The Village of Roseville had appraised the Town Hall at <br />?G6,500. The Village of Lauderdale apparently had concurred <br />in this valuation. It was the opinion of the council members <br />thst a fair valuation of t'_^e '"own Hall property should be <br />~7i500. thze to the difference in opinion, it was assumed <br />that a board of arbitration would be established composed of <br />1 representative from Roseville, one from Lauderdale, one from <br />Fa?.con Heights, and a fourth person to be sC1CCted by thGBC 3• <br />3. The council members were agreeable to hiring Buetow as archi- <br />tect for the village hall and fire station building anal that <br />formal action would be taken on June 7. <br />Acceptance of Middle- At tre conclusion of Matteson's report, Shavor moved the accep- <br />brook's offer tance of the offer contained in Middlebrook's letter of June ~2- <br />and t}gat the president and deputy clerk be instructed to sign. <br />the lease. Rysgaard seconded the motion and it was carried. <br />Appointment of Buetow Rysgaard moved that the cc•::ncil appoint. Max and Gerald Bu-tow <br />as archi+,GCts for the village hell and fire station, subject to <br />the signing of a contract. Motion seconded by Shavor and carried <br />Electrical Bids Council opened the bids received for electrical work, ss follows: <br />Tieso & Kostka Elec. ('1,200 included for Fixtures ?3,576.00 <br />Ernest & P?elson Elce.("~1,200 included for fixtures,) 3,075.00 <br />Collins Higberg 01,200 incl.uaed. for fixtures) 3,56~~.00 <br />Stapp Bros.
