Lodahl, Trustee <br />Clyd® J. Stewart, Clerk <br />Ralph Van Hoven, Treasurer <br />Frank N. Graham, Attorney <br />Meeting called to order at 7:45 P.M., and minutes of March 24, 1953 meeting <br />were read. In connect n with Fire Department salaries, page 352, the clause <br />"that no charge be made`this time in the wages paid" was corrected to read, <br />"that no change be made at this time in the wages paid." The minutes were <br />then approved as corrected. <br />Traffic Mr. Winfrey, representing the Falcon Heights Businessmen's <br />sign Association, appeared before the council to urge installation <br /> of a Plashing type of sign to slow down traffic westbound <br /> on Larpenteur to Snelling, the proposed sign to be at Arona <br /> and Larpenteur. Mr. Winfrey also stated that a pedestrian <br /> cross-walk on Larpenteur was needed in the business area. <br /> After discussion, Shavor moved that the question of a <br /> flashing traffic sign and pedestrian cross-walk as pres®nted <br />~' by Mr. Winfrey be referred to Don Arndt, Public Safety <br /> Committee Chairman, for study and recommendation. Lindig <br /> seconded and motion carried. <br />Public phone Messrs. Robert Mohr and J. L. Bardouche, of the Northwestern <br />booth Bell Telephone Company, were introdued to the council. Mr. <br /> Bardouohe stated the telephone company wished to secure a <br /> spot about 40 inches square on Village property for an out- <br /> side public telephone booth with the understanding that the <br /> Village would reoeive 17 per cent of the total monthly receipts. <br /> Mr. Bardouche said they had in mind a location north of <br /> Larpenteur Avenue near the Falcon Dry Cleaners. Mr. Winfrey, <br /> of the Falcon Heights Businessmen's Association, suggested that <br /> a better location might be the northeast corner of Larpenteur <br /> and Snelling. Following a full discussion, Shavor moved that <br /> the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company be authorized to install <br /> a public telephone b~th on the northeast corner of Larpenteur <br /> and Snelling sub3ect to approval of the property owner, also <br /> that the booth be installed sub~eot to removal on 30 day s <br /> notice. Seoonded by Lodahl and motion carried unanimously. <br />Load limits Elmer 'r. Nelson, President of the Nelson Oil Company, 491 <br /> W. Minnehaha, St Paul, and one of his truck drivers, Mr. <br /> '~~i Wingard, appeared before the Council, Mr. Nelson stated <br /> hta Company wished to comply with load limits placed on <br /> Villa ge streets but was unable to do so with trunks they <br /> were operating. Lindig was asked to take the matter up <br /> with the County Engineer and to report to Mr. Nelson. <br />Move George Keller, 1407 West Larpenteur, asked for permit to <br />Keller home move the house he owns at 1407 'Rest Larpenteur to north <br />to Holton Holton street and on to a lot at 1732 N. Holton. Yr. Keller <br /> said he is now using the house as a residence and store at <br /> the Larpenteur address, bvt will close out his store and <br />
