<br />Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M., with roll call recording the following
<br />council members present: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee;
<br />Andrew Hustrulid, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee, and Clyde J. Stewart,
<br />Clerk. Also present, ~uilliam E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank rd. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Farney from Frank J. Farney
<br />request Letter of February 21G/was read, relating to proposal to build
<br /> on Lots 2 and 3 and ~ 10 ft. of Lot 1, at 1l~5Lt Roselawn Avenue.
<br /> It was agreed that proposed remodeling of the house on the
<br /> corner could be done by securing a building permit. Stewart
<br /> moved with respect to proposal for the other two lots that
<br /> this be referred to the Planninr* Commission for recommendation,
<br /> with advice to the Commission that the Council will consider
<br /> the Farney letter an application for variation under Ordinance
<br /> No. 17. Cartwright seconded and motion carried unanimously.
<br /> sirs. Farney appeared before the council later in the meeting
<br /> and was informed of the council's action on the Farney request.
<br />?A~ould purchase Letter of February 23 from Robert P. Cassin, 861 E. Cottage
<br />10 ft. of Lot 1, Avenue, St Paul, relating to his request for purchasing 10 ft.
<br />Blk 10, Northome of Lot,l, Black 10, Northome 2nd Addition, which is Village
<br />2nd addn. property. After discussion, Cartwright moved that Mr. Cassin's
<br /> letter be referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation,
<br /> and that our attorney be asked to check as to whether the
<br /> property was affected by the State's drainage easement on some
<br /> of the Village property, also whether there was any restriction
<br /> on the power of the Villa ge to convey the property. Seconded
<br /> by Stewart and so ordered.
<br />Juhl check Stewart read a letter dated February 19 from the County Engineer,
<br />credited on enclosing check payable to the Ramsey County Treasurer, issued
<br />1951 allotment by J. Juhl, of Pal to Alto, California, in payment for work done
<br /> during October 1953 on Arona avenue, which Mr. Juhl as the
<br /> developer was billed for by +„he Village. On November 25, 1953,
<br /> the Village paid the entire street bill for October 1953,
<br /> amounting to ~l~69.13, of which the X3161.12 owed by fir, Juhl
<br /> was a part. In view of the County's position that check for
<br /> X161.12 could not be endorsed over to the Village of Falcon
<br /> Heights, the clerk asked the council for authority to return
<br /> said check to the County Engineer with request that it be applied
<br /> to our 19511 gas allotment to show a credit of X161.12. On motion
<br /> by Cartwright, seconded by Hustrulid, it was so ordered.
<br />Requisition No. 2!~ covering supplies for, the Clerk's office was considered.
<br /> Hustrulid moved approval of said requisition, seconded by
<br /> Cartwright and carried unanimously.
<br />Safety Report The Clerk reported that the Village's 1953 annual report
<br /> for the Traffic Safety contests would be completed shortly,
<br /> and that Mr. R.V. Juetten, Asst. Secy., Minnesota Safety
<br /> Council, would be in the Village for the purpose of receiving
<br /> this report early in March. It was agreed that the Clerk
<br /> would determine definitely when ~Ir. Juetten plans to be in
<br /> Falcon Heights with the understanding that the Mayor would
<br /> be on hand to meet him.
