Graham) <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.P~i., wi th roll call recording the <br />following council members present: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; Andrew ??ustrulid, <br />Trustee, and David P. Cartwright, Trustee. Absent: George J. Shavor, Trustee, <br />and Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: '~~illiam E. Olsen, Treasurer, and <br />Frank N. Graham, Attorney. <br />Minutes of the regular meeting held December 8, 195~t, and of the canvassing board <br />meeting held on the same date were heard and approved as read. <br />Bills: On motion by Cartwright, seconded by Stenzinger, the following <br />bills were ordered paid: <br />Earl Smith, policing & mileage to Dec. 18, ?k17.15 <br />Henry Dachtera, rr !- rr -r n n 72.21 <br />Brady-~4argulis Co., ring binder 2.95 <br />Badenrs Pure Oil Service 3.90 <br />Ramsey County, street work 10-26 to 11-25 327.07 <br />(after deducting ~I~00.00 to be paid by <br />Douglas Rees, and $100.00 to be paid <br />by Northern States Power Company on <br />cost of improving alley behind business <br />property north of Larpenteur avenue). <br />Purchase <br />Requisition Purchase requisition No. 45, dated December 15, 195t~, from the <br />No. 1.t5 Fire Department, was approved with the addition of 6-21~ inch <br />steel blade snow pushers and two large push brooms to be used <br />on the skating rinks. Cartwright was authorized to purchase <br />the latter two items for use on the skating rinks as soon as <br />possible, at the suggestion of Joe Sanderson, 1753 Holton, who <br />stated these items were needed in connection with the flooding <br />and maintenance of the rinks. <br />Hartfiel V4. A. Hartfiel~':and others were in the council chambers and stated <br />Rezoning that they had reached. an agreement with respect to the rezoning <br />petition hearing which had been continued until 8:30 F.M., December <br />22, 195lt. Pdr. Hartfiel was advised that since there were only <br />three council members present at the meeting, the council could <br />not take action and the hearing on his petition was further <br />continued to the next regular meeting of the council at 7:30 P.P,S., <br />VTednesday, January 12, 1955• On motion of Stenzin~?er, seconded <br />by Hustrulid, it was voted. unanimously to approve said further <br />continuance of the hearing. <br />~"tarming Joe Sanderson. stated that a warming hut. was needed for a skating <br />Huts rink and that it might be desirable for the Village to check into • <br />the sale of Quonset huts by the City of St Paul. The Mayor and <br />Mr. Sanderson will check and report back to the council. <br />Newell re Hal Newell appeared before the council and questioned the councilrs <br />alley impvt. procedure in connec+_-ion with the repair work on the alley behind <br />behind business the business properties north of Larpen teur, After some discussion, <br />properties Stenzinger moved, seconded by Cartwright and carried unanimously, <br />north of Larpen- that the Street Commissioner be advised that he is only authorized <br />teur to order street repairs on written authorization of the counci~ with <br />the excebtion of snow removal work and necessary emergency wor . <br />
