CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was held on the 10th day of <br />July, 1975• <br />The following members were present: Mayor v3arkentien, Councilmen <br />Black, Steele, and Iabalestra, and the following was absent: Councilman <br />Ecklund. <br />Councilman Steele introduced the following Resolution, and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #75-17 <br />A RESbLUTION ADOPTING GRANGES TO THE PROPOSED ~~OPr~l <br />MEETING LAw~~ AS SUBMITTED TO THE LEGISLATURE BY THE <br />LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA P~IUNICIPALITIES <br />W'~~EREAS, the City of Falcon Heights supports the intent of the ~~Open <br />Meeting Law~~ which is to have the public business conducted openly so that the <br />public can be informed of the decisions and actions being taken, and <br />WHEREAS, nevertheless there are certain matters of a confidential <br />nature whch may not be in the public interest at a particular time to disclose <br />publicly, and <br />~~ ~ S, the Attorney General hab s°endered an opi.~sion which appears to <br />be more restrictive than the legislature intended. <br />NOW, TKEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of <br />Falcon Heights respectfully urge the Minnesota State Legislature to consider <br />changes in the open meeting law as proposed in the legislation submitted by the <br />League of Minnesota Municipalities, and <br />BE IT FUxTHER RESOLV.Ell, that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to <br />the Governor of the State of Minnesota, Members of the State Legislature, and the <br />League of Minnesota Municipalities. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilman Labalestra, and upon a vote being taken, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Steele, and Labalestra, and <br />the following voted against the same: None. <br />WHER~U9UPON, the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />,, <br />/ ~. ` <br />~ ! . /~ <br />WILLIS C.
