CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council <br />of the City of Falcon Heights, I~Tinnesota was held on the 21~th day of March, 1977. <br />• The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, <br />Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following members were absent: None. <br />Councilman Ecklund introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption. <br />RESOLUTION N0, 77-13 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NORTH SUBURBAN <br />CRIME PREVENTION AND CRI'~NAL APPREHENSION <br />FUND <br />ti••d'HE,~EAS, the Ramsey County Sheriff ~ s Department has recommended to ~he City <br />Council that the City approve a program designated as the North Suburban Area Crime <br />Prevention and Criminal Apprehension Fund; <br />'vJIIEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such a program will be in the <br />best interests of the citizens of the City of Falcon Heights in that it has proven <br />to be an effective means of fighting crime in other municipalities adopting similar <br />programs; and <br />~G~"~TEREAS, the financing for such a program has been guaranteed by the North <br />Suburban Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations without any cost to the <br />City of Falcon Heights. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Falcon <br />• Heights, Minnesota that the City Council approved adoption of the North Suburban <br />Area Crime Prevention Fund, a proposed private non-profit corporation, funding, <br />among other things: <br />1. A code-a-phone by a designated Police Department to be used for the re- <br />ceipt of tips from confidential informants and the issuance of code numbers to <br />such informants; <br />2. Dissemination of information received from such informants to other law <br />enforcement agencies; and <br />3. Providing financial regards to informants for information leading to the <br />arrest and conviction of criminals. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by <br />Mayor Warkentien and upon a vote being taken the following voted in favor of the <br />resolution: I•:ayor ird`arkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and <br />the following voted against the same: None. <br />~iHEREUPON, said Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />,. <br />/f . ~~ ~ <br />/ • <br />t f <br />_ t <br />WILLIS C.
