MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />JUNE 3, 1985 <br />Called to order by Paul Ciernia. <br />Members Present: Paul Nelson., Connie Lasser, Carol Parks, Keith Moderson, <br />Floyd Bedbury. <br />Iteith discussed Bike Day results. Approximately 37 bikes registered for <br />both sites. Commission will address the desirability of continuing the <br />event in the future. <br />1. July 25th has been set as the date for the Ice Cream Social. Commission <br />members will work with Shirley to coordinate the event. <br />2. Drafts of the user survey will be mailed to Commission members for <br />review and testing prior to distribution in the July Newsletter. The survey <br />will address the level of demand for various park services and programs. <br />3. Commission members Moderson, Nelson and Parks will review Park's budget <br />history and make recommendations regarding revisions or increased prior to <br />August 1. Members will recognize that a separate capital improvement fund <br />exists for equipment and non-service items. Recommendations will be for anticipated <br />needs for 1986. <br />• 4. Floyd noted that there is a problem with the lighting of the tennis court <br />and will ask maintenance to make necessary repairs or replacement. <br />5. Paul Ciernia raised the issue of fee reimbursement for tennis lessons in <br />Roseville. Commission resolved the issue by ruling that reimbursement for <br />comparable services will not be made, whenever the service is offered in <br />Falcon Heights. <br />6. Commission members will review condition of hockey boards at Idaho to <br />determine whether replacement is necessary. <br />7. Connie Lasser and Carol Parks have agreed to be contacts for any questions <br />regarding 1985 Summer programs at the parks. This will provide Laura Luttrell <br />and other employees an added back-up resource when necessary. <br />8. Position descriptions for park employees have been .completed by Carol <br />Parks, The descriptions will be reviewed by the City Council before final <br />approval. <br />9. The Commission will request that maintenance complete the repairs <br />that are needed at the main park loft. This represents the third such <br />request.
