MIIvTUTES <br />• PARK AND RTCRLATION COMMISSION <br />MARCH 10, 1886 <br />Called to order by Connie Lasser. <br />?~Tembers Present: Keith Moderson, Bob Gehrz, Floyd Bedbury, <br />Jean Ohms , Connie Lasser, Paul Ciernia, <br />Council Liaison and Pat Bush, Recreation <br />Program Director <br />Members Absent: Tom T~iontain, Ardis ~-:utchir.s, Tom ~.mman <br />Liquor in the Park <br />Last year the Parks and Recreation Commission voted unamiously <br />to not allow alcoholic beverages at any City Park. ~~e again <br />voted unamiously to send this recommendation to the City Council <br />for their action. If the City Council adopts a no liquor in the <br />parks ordinance the Commission would like signs posted at parks <br />stating- this. <br />Park Rental Policy Review <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the Park Rental Fees <br />• and decided to keep fees the same as last year but to nequire a <br />X100.00 damage deposit for rental of the park building. This will <br />require a. check of the building the following work day. The <br />Commission also set a hockey rink rental policy that the rinks <br />will not be rented during our published 'Hours. <br />Fark Sub-Committee <br />Bob Gehrz reported that Paul Nelson, Tom l~iontain, Paul Ciernia and <br />himself met with. Grove area, residents. The area residents are <br />working on developing a plan for this park that includes: multiple <br />use open greenspace play area, softball backstop, hard surface <br />court play area approximately 50'X60' with basketball play area, <br />tot equipment, picnic table and landscaping. The Grove area <br />residents are meeting on a regular basis and the sub-committee <br />will keep us informed. <br />Summer Program <br />Pat Bush presented a rough draft of the summer program to the <br />Commission. Commission members discussed with Pat ideas we have <br />on programs. This is to be further discussed a1d finalized at <br />our next meeting. The Commission agreed to hold our next meeting <br />on i~londa.y April 7th, to accomadate the publication of the summer <br />recreation pro~-ram in the next newsletter. <br />• Respectfully submitted, <br />Connie Lasser <br />
