MIIvTUTES • PARK AND RTCRLATION COMMISSION MARCH 10, 1886 Called to order by Connie Lasser. ?~Tembers Present: Keith Moderson, Bob Gehrz, Floyd Bedbury, Jean Ohms , Connie Lasser, Paul Ciernia, Council Liaison and Pat Bush, Recreation Program Director Members Absent: Tom T~iontain, Ardis ~-:utchir.s, Tom ~.mman Liquor in the Park Last year the Parks and Recreation Commission voted unamiously to not allow alcoholic beverages at any City Park. ~~e again voted unamiously to send this recommendation to the City Council for their action. If the City Council adopts a no liquor in the parks ordinance the Commission would like signs posted at parks stating- this. Park Rental Policy Review The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the Park Rental Fees • and decided to keep fees the same as last year but to nequire a X100.00 damage deposit for rental of the park building. This will require a. check of the building the following work day. The Commission also set a hockey rink rental policy that the rinks will not be rented during our published 'Hours. Fark Sub-Committee Bob Gehrz reported that Paul Nelson, Tom l~iontain, Paul Ciernia and himself met with. Grove area, residents. The area residents are working on developing a plan for this park that includes: multiple use open greenspace play area, softball backstop, hard surface court play area approximately 50'X60' with basketball play area, tot equipment, picnic table and landscaping. The Grove area residents are meeting on a regular basis and the sub-committee will keep us informed. Summer Program Pat Bush presented a rough draft of the summer program to the Commission. Commission members discussed with Pat ideas we have on programs. This is to be further discussed a1d finalized at our next meeting. The Commission agreed to hold our next meeting on i~londa.y April 7th, to accomadate the publication of the summer recreation pro~-ram in the next newsletter. • Respectfully submitted, Connie Lasser
