• MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1986 <br />Called to order by Connie Lasser. <br />Members Present: Bob Gehrz, Leo Ohman, Paul Nelson, Connie <br />Lasser, Keith Moderson, Tom Amman, and Paul <br />Ciernia, Council Liaison <br />Members Absent: Ardis Hutchins, Floyd Bedbury, Tom Montain, <br />Jean Ohman <br />Guests: Dick and Peter Krueger <br />Recreation Survey <br />In the summer of 1985, the Parks and Recreation Commission sponsored <br />a survey to aid in planning for upcoming years. Mr. Dick Krueger <br />and his son, Peter, used a computer to assist in compiling some results <br />for this survey. They were at this meeting and spent some time going over <br />• this report with the Parks Commission. The Park and Recreation <br />Commission will study this report in further detail. <br />1666 Coffman <br />The Parks Sub-Committee regarding Park useage at the Grove reported some <br />preliminary findings, particularly regarding placement of a baseball <br />back stop. Such items as parking, walk paths, equipment purchases, etc. <br />will continue to be studied. This sub-committee expects to meet the <br />last part of February with some residents of the Grove. <br />Parks and Recreation Director <br />Connie Lasser reported that Pat Bush had been approved as the Park and <br />Recreation Director for Falcon Heights. She has already begun some <br />planning for the summer activities. The Commission decided her salary <br />should be set at $9.25 per hour. <br />Winter Skating <br />The winter rink programs seem to be going fine with the exception of the <br />Grove. The ice is poor and the rink has not been cleared of snow. Connie <br />with check with Steve Nelson. regarding re-flooding the rink. It was <br />suggested that perhaps the City could handle this rink in the same manner <br />that the rink at the Falcon Heights Learning Center is treated if <br />. there aren't enough rink attendants to handle it. <br />Paul Nelson., Secretary <br />
