• <br />MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />APRIL 7, 1986 <br />Meeting called to order by Connie Lasser. <br />Members Present: Keith Moderson, Bob Gehrz, Floyd Bedbury, Connie Lasser, <br />Paul Nelson, Tom Montain, Ardis Hutchins, Council Liaison Ciernia and Pat <br />Bush, Recreation Director. <br />Members Absent: Tom Amman, and Leo and Jean Ohman <br />1. 1986 Summer Program <br />Pat Bush presented the activities scheduled for the summer recreation program. <br />These activities will go out in the next newsletter. Some detailed changes <br />were discussed. Perhaps some of the nature classes will be offered at the <br />Grove and the Falcon Heights Learning Center. The Friday. activities will be <br />finalized also. Connie and Pat will also look into the possibility of a <br />tennis backstop at Idaho-Snelling. <br />2. 1666 Coffman <br />• The Park and Recreation Subcommittee on the Grove Park has presented a map <br />and list of suggested playground equipment for the Grove. However, before it <br />is formally presented to this Park and Recreation Commission, the Grove <br />Homeowners Association plan to do some preliminary checking with the University <br />of Minnesota. <br />3. Recreation Director <br />Pat Bush indicated that as Recreation Director she would appreciate some long <br />term guidance for her position--specifically as it relates to the Commission's <br />goals for activity programs as well as physical improvements. <br />4. Volleyball <br />The possibility of volleyball stands and nets at Idaho-Snelling and Falcon <br />Heights Learning Center will be looked into. <br />5. Groups Using Parks <br />It was suggested that civic groups be allowed to use the parks free although <br />a deposit would be required. Dewan Barnes will coordinate with the City <br />Council for a listing of approved civic groups. The rental fee schedule <br />will be reviewed before the winter programs begin. <br />• <br />
