•
MINUTES
FALCON HEIGHTS PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
OCTOBER 13, 1986
Members Present: Pat Bush, Paul Nelson, Keith Moderson, Bob Gehrz,
Connie Lasser, Paul Ciernia, Councilmember Liaison
Members Absent: Leo and Jean Ohman, Ardis Hutchins, Tom Montain,
Floyd Bedbury, Tom Amman
1. 1666 Coffman - Grove Park
On Sunday, October 19, an Open House and Park Dedication will be held at the
Grove Park. This will be for the playground equipment installed at the
Grove Park. Members of this Commission are encouraged to attend.
2. Grove Park - Warming House
• The warming house at the Grove Park is in poor condition and discussion was
held regarding several options. Pat Bush obtained a rough bid of about
$7,200. In addition, there would be operating costs of $150/year and
about $1200/year to staff the rink. Since the rink will not be in use for
the winter 1986-87, it was agreed to continue the discussion later. A
general discussion of the winter skating program was also held as well as
how much equipment is needed for the four rinks we run.
3. Fall-Winter Program
Pat Bush reported that the programs were running smoothly. She is also
starting to look for rink attendants.
4. Publicitv of Falcon Heiehts Programs
It had been researched to see if the City newsletter could be mailed at a
time a little more conducive to the recreation program this Commission
is sponsoring. The distribution dates of the newsletter cannot be changed.
Bulk rates and hand delivery rates were also explored.
• Paul Nelson, Secretary
