MINUTES • Park and Recreation Commission December 8, 1986 Members Present: Bob Gehrz, Floyd Bedbury, Ardis Hutchins, Tom Montain, Connie Lasser, Pat Bush and Paul Ciernia, Couneil Liaison Members Absent: Tom Amman, Leo & Jean Ohman, Paul Nelson Meeting call to order at 7:00 p.m. by Connie Lasser, Chair. Connie Lasser reported to the Commission the resignation of Keith Maderson for personal reasons. 1. Winter Program - Flyer distrubuted through schools and Roseville Review, also through the Grove Association, as i~ B ~e ~s unable to .target the Falcon Heights area. There was some discussion of the program cost of "When I'm in Charge". The actual cost of the program to us through the Red Cross is $5.50 per participant. The Commission feels that perhaps we should subsidize some of the cost and we will discuss this at a later meeting. Pat Bush received a request from a resident who's child attends Brimhall School, to be paid the non-resident reim- bursement for the Roseville basketball program because it is inconvenient for the parent to get the child over to Falcon Heights School for our program. Our policy states that we will not reimburse the non-resident fee for any activity offered by Falcon Heights Recreation and the Commission agreed to abide by this policy. Pat Bush will document any other si~ilar requests and keep the Commission informed. 2. Rinks- Pat Bush has hired all the rink attendants and is scheduled to meet with them December 9. Most are returning employees and all are college age. Signs are to be posted inside and outside warming houses stating hours. There will be a rink at Grove Park this year. Bob Gehrz reported that the residents do not want a security light that remains on during the hours of darkness. They do want a light similar to what they had and they want it to operate on a timing mechanism similar to the tennis court lights at the Community Park. •
