• MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />MAY 11, 1987 <br />Members Present: Bob Gehrz, Jean Ohman, Tom Montain, Floyd Bedbury <br />Linda McLoon, Connie Lasser, Pat Bush and Paul Ciernia, <br />Council Liaison <br />Members Absent: Ardis Hutchins and Paul Nelson <br />Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Connie Lasser, Chair. Commission <br />welcomed new member Linda McLoon. <br />1. Summer Program <br />The sign-up for some summer programs is slow but we're hopeful that with <br />a month remaining for registration that these programs will fill. A <br />calligraphy class is also being offered and will be advertised. <br />2. Playground Equipment at Community Park <br />Pat Bush presented a model of the equipment the Commission decided to <br />purchase and also another model of equipment that would compliment this <br />iece possibly to be purchased in the future. The price of this equip- <br />~ent, which is intended for preschool aged children is X2,700. The <br />maintenance staff along with. several volunteers form the area Lions Club <br />will install this. Delivery is about four weeks from time of order. <br />3. Ice Cream Social <br />This year's Ice Cream Social is scheduled for July 30, this will be the <br />conclusion of the summer recreation programs and will be the final T-ball <br />and soccer games. The Commission liked the music at last year's event <br />and also decided we have a challenge volleyball .game. Plans will be <br />further discussed and finalized in future meetings. <br />4. Idaho-Snelling Park <br />Paul Ciernia informed the Commission that there will be no changes to <br />the water holding area or to the grade of that park due to work on <br />Snelling Avenue. <br />5. Piano <br />Jean Ohman, as our representative from the Falconeer's Senior Club, <br />suggested that their group would like a piano at City Ha11 to be used <br />at their meetings and possibly at other social functions at City Hall. <br />It was suggested that we could advertise in the upcoming newsletter our <br />~eed or if anyone knew of someone selling or willing to donate a piano. <br />
