MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />AUGUST 17, 1987 <br />Members Present: Linda McLoon, Tom Montain, Leo an& Jean Ohman, <br />Connie Lasser, Pat Bush, Paul Ciernia, council <br />liaison <br />Guest: Jan Weisner, Clerk-Administrator <br />Members Absent: Ardis Hutchins, Paul Nelson, Bob Gehrz and <br />Floyd Bedbury <br />Budget <br />The Commission went through the budget line-by-line and it was <br />agreed that the final budget amount to be recommended to the <br />City Council was the same as last year. There was discussion <br />with Jan Weisner about the accounting proceedure used on the <br />recreation programs and discussion will continue on this matter. <br />Fall Program <br />Pat Bush presented a preliminary fall program. Some minor ad- <br />justments were suggested and made. Pat encouraged everyone to <br />• call her if they have any suggestions for the fall program. <br />The fall program is going to be sent home from Falcon Heights <br />School in conjunction with the Community Education brochure. <br />Grove Park <br />Connie Lass r reported that she visited the Grove Park on Sunday, <br />August 16, in the evening and that water from the previous night's <br />rain was in two puddles in the park area. Also, water was in <br />the 1666 Coffman holding pond. The grassy area of the park is <br />quite rocky. Some of the newly planted trees have died and should <br />be re-planted. Jan Wiesner said she would check into regrading <br />the field with the contractor and would also check the holding <br />pond area. V <br />Community Park <br />The Commission was told that. the bid for arreation of tYe Community <br />Park playing fields was very expensive. The City Office will <br />check into renting the necessary equipment. <br />Piano <br />The piano that was purchased by the City has some problems that <br />make it unacceptable in it's present condition. It is dirty, out <br />of tune and missing a front panel. Pat Bush is going to talk to <br />• Schmitt Music about remeding these problems. Schmitt Music has <br />not been paid and won't be until this matter is satisfactorily <br />resolved. <br />
