<br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />OCTOBER 10, 1983 <br />The Planning Commission meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by <br />Chairman Al Stafanson. <br />Stefanson, Bourquin, Mead, Nilsen, Chenoweth and Olson. Wallin arrived PRESENT <br />later. <br />Brown and Geistfeld. ABSENT <br />The September 12, 1983 Minutes were discussed. Jim Bourquin moved, seconded MINUTES OF <br />by Erma Olson, to approve the Minutes as corrected (sentence added on page 2, 9/12/83 <br />paragraph 4, to read: "Erma Olson stated that after measuring the driveway APPROVED AS <br />width, she was of the opinion that the width was not adequate for angle CORRECTED <br />parking and access for emergency vehicles.") Motion carried unanimously. <br />After a discussion regarding whether there would be adequate parking for <br />all programs housed at Falcon Heights Elementary School, Harold Nilsen <br />moved, seconded by Don Mead, that Jim Klassen, Director of Community <br />Relations, Roseville Area Schools, be contacted to prepare an analysis of <br />the parking, both long and short-term, to be presented at the next Planning <br />Commission. meeting on November 7th. Motion carried unanimously. <br />A variance request from Wm. L. Huebsch, 1494 West Iowa, to place a garage <br />three feet from the lot line was. discussed. He presented a letter from <br />his neighbors indicating they have no objections. Jim Bourquin moved, <br />seconded by Phil Chenoweth, that the variance request be approved. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. M. J. Barrett, 1$25 Simpson., requested a variance to construct a garage <br />three feet from. the. lot line. Phil Chenoweth moved, seconded by Jim <br />Bourquin:, .that .the variance request be approved. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />The Planning Commission reviewed and noted the Citizens Advisory Committee <br />Minutes of August 29, 1983 and the Snelling/Larpenteur Redevelopment Study <br />prepared by Howard Dahlgren Associates. After considerable discussion., <br />Don. Mead moved,.. seconded by Phil Chenoweth, that Council expedite, during <br />the month of November, a workshop to ..discuss-the options for development <br />which should include the Citizens Advisory Committee, Planning Commission <br />and Council. Harold Nilsen also requested that the Clerk Administrator <br />contact the Minnesota Department of Transportation regarding their plans <br />for the Snelling Avenue upgrading prior to the workshop. <br />PARKING AT <br />FALCON <br />HEIGHTS <br />SCHOOL <br />VARIANCE <br />WM.
