RESOLUTION 2016- <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A NEW POLLING PLACE FOR PRECINCT 3A FOR <br />ELECTIONS IN THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, Legislative District 38 is split into two districts, 38A and 38B; and, <br />WHEREAS, the split in the legislative district divides Ward 3 into two precincts, P3A <br />and P3B; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ward 3 has a total of 2,876 registered voters, with 2,075 voters in Precinct 3A <br />and 801 voters in Precinct 3B; and, <br />WHEREAS, both precincts in Ward 3 have voted at the Rice Lake Center in the past <br />primary and general elections; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Rice Lake Center has proven to be insufficient in size to accommodate all <br />election activities for both precincts; and, <br />WHEREAS, State Statute 2046.16 authorizes the governing body of a municipality to <br />designate by resolution a polling place for each election precinct; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Oneka Room at Hugo City Hall meets all the legal requirements for a <br />polling location; and, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Hugo <br />hereby designates a new polling place for Precinct 3A as the Oneka Room at Hugo City Hall, <br />14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the polling places for all elections conducted in the <br />City of Hugo, Washington County, Minnesota until changed by this Council, are as follows: <br />Precinct 1— Hugo Fire Department, 5323 140th Street North <br />Precinct 2A and 213 — Oneka Elementary School, 4888 Heritage Parkway North <br />Precinct 3A — Hugo City Hall, 14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North <br />Precinct 313 — Rice Lake Center, 6900 137th Street North <br />ADOPTED by the Hugo City Council this 7th day of March, 2016. <br />Tom Weidt, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Michele Lindau, City Clerk <br />
