WASHINGTON COUNTY <br />COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE CITY OF HUGO <br />COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 4 AND <br />COUNTY ROAD 57 <br />CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION SERVICES <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY <br />CONTRACT NO. <br />10138 <br />DEPT. <br />PUBLIC WORKS <br />DIVISION <br />TRANSPORTATION <br />TERM <br />SIGNATURE TO END OF <br />PROJECT <br />THIS AGREEMENT, by and between the City of Hugo, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred <br />to as the "City", and Washington County, a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "County": <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the County desires to perform pavement preservation projects on Washington County <br />State Aid Highway (CSAH) 4, hereinafter referred to as CSAH 4, and Washington County Road (CR) <br />57, hereinafter referred to as CR 57; and <br />WHEREAS, a cooperative effort between the City and the County is the appropriate method to <br />facilitate construction observation and inspection of the proposed projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the County desires to use State Aid and local funds for CSAH 4 and local funds only for <br />CR 57. <br />WHEREAS, this Agreement is made pursuant to statutory authority contained in Minnesota Statute <br />162.17 sub.1. <br />NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY MUTUALLY AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br />PURPOSE <br />The City shall provide to the County construction observation and inspection services for <br />pavement preservation projects on CSAH 4 and CR 57. This agreement includes Exhibit A <br />(CSAH 4 location map) and Exhibit B (CR 57 location map). <br />II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />A. CSAH 4 Resurfacing. This is a pavement preservation project consisting of removing <br />the existing bituminous surface and repaving with hot -mix asphalt. In addition, <br />placement of shouldering material, culvert replacement, ditch cleaning, and signing <br />and striping will be included in this project. The project limits are illustrated on Exhibit <br />A. <br />B. CR 57 Surface Reclamation. This is a pavement preservation project consisting of <br />full -depth reclamation of the existing road surface. Placement of shouldering material, <br />culvert replacement, culvert and ditch cleaning, erosion control, turf establishment, and <br />signing and striping will also be included in this project. The project limits are illustrated <br />on Exhibit B. <br />III. CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION, OBSERVATION, AND TESTING <br />A. City construction observation and inspection services shall include: <br />Services to be provided by one certified inspector. <br />Pre -construction conference attendance. <br />- 1 - <br />
