I am writing to invite
you & the Hugo City Council to a home dedication we are holding for 8 families in Hugo on April 23rd at 30am. The
invitation is attached, with more detail.
A home dedication is an event that brings together the homebuyers with sponsors, volunteers, community members,
neighbors, and Habitat staff, board, and supporters. It is a celebration of the family's hard work and of the tremendous
contributions from supporters and volunteers that make building the home possible.
Dedications last about 40 minutes, with time for the homebuyers, sponsors, Habitat staff & Board to all share briefly.
Then there is time to tour the home, socialize, and have cake (often there is other food supplied by the family).
Generally, speakers are given 2-3 minutes to introduce themselves, welcome the family to their new home; thank
sponsors & volunteers; share a little bit about your city's connection to Habitat or with the family; share any personal
connections to Habitat, the home or the family; and give well -wishes for the family.
Please let me know if any of the City Council are available to attend and if they would be willing to say a few words
during the program.
Thank you so much,
Emily
Emily Evans
.fl Wtat Events Assistant
emily.evans@tchabitat.org 612-305-7177
1954 University Ave W St. Paul, MN 55401
