Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for June 2, 2014 <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein reported on the recent activities of the City of <br />Hugo's Yellow Ribbon Network activities. Miles and Marilyn Stromberg are Hugo Good <br />Neighbors of the year, much due to their volunteer work on the YRN. They will be Grand <br />Marshals of the Good Neighbor Days Parade. This week is the 17th anniversary of D -Day. May <br />Hamburger Night sponsors were WSB Engineering and Johnson & Turner Law Firm. June <br />sponsor is Xcel Energy. Many thanks are still being received for the care packages sent by the <br />YRN. Haas will be going to Norway with the National Guard to serve steaks to the troops. <br />Open House for Habitat for Humanity Workshop <br />Haas added this to the agenda to schedule a meeting of the Council to attend the Habitat for <br />Humanity workshop to show the City's support for them and the homes they will be building on <br />land donated by Schwieters Construction. Habitat for Humanity's Veteran Outreach Program is <br />involving the Yellow Ribbon Network in the project. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule a meeting for June 18, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the <br />Oneka room to attend the workshop. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Summary of Executive Session on May 19, 2014 <br />At its May 19, 2014 meeting, the Council adjourned its regular session and entered into <br />executive session for the purpose of conducting the performance review for City Administrator <br />Bryan Bear. City Attorney Dave Snyder provided a summary, saying the executive session was <br />for a routine performance review. <br />Hugo Good Neighbor Days June 5-8, 2014 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear provided a reminder that the Hugo Lions will be holding the <br />Hugo Good Neighbor Days Festival June 5-8, 2014 in Lions Park. The parade will be on <br />Saturday, June 7th at 11 a.m. Parade route and information on Good Neighbor Days' events can <br />be found on the City's website. <br />Cancel Joint Meeting with Parks Commission Scheduled for June 11, 2014 <br />At its May 5, 2014 meeting, the Council discussed Irish Avenue Park Planning and a <br />recommendation from the Parks Commission to approve a public meeting be held to receive <br />feedback on the development of the park. The Council had scheduled a meeting for June 11, <br />2014; however, the Parks Commission has since discussed refocusing their efforts to the <br />development of Lions Park. Staff will cancel the meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, <br />2014. <br />
