Hugo City Council Minutes for the Goal Setting Session on January 22, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />• Ensure the operation of the Hanifl Concession Stand <br />• Coordinate additional tournaments at the Hanifl Fields Athletic Park <br />• Schedule the ball fields <br />• Brainstorm more ideas for the use of Oneka Gym <br />• Continue to promote parks and programs through digital communications including FaceBook <br />• Promote the City of Hugo through merchandise and apparel <br />2013 Planning Commission Goals <br />Planner Rachel Juba provided Council an overview of the goals of the Hugo Planning Commission as <br />discussed at the Planning Commission meeting on January 10, 2013. The Commission's goals fell into <br />the following categories: <br />• Continue Discussion on City Identity <br />• Study and plan the northern gateway (170th and TH 61) <br />• Zoning ordinance updates — Ordinance Review Committee (ORC) <br />• City Wide Bus Tour <br />• Connection of trail systems to commercial areas <br />• Stormwater Plan <br />• PC Training <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) Goals <br />Planner Rachel Juba reviewed the 2013 goals of the EDA. The goals fell into the following categories: <br />• Business Retention and Expansion <br />• Continue Marketing of the City <br />• Event Marketing <br />• Continue working on downtown redevelopment projects <br />• Establish quality industrial and commercial development <br />• Transportation <br />• Encourage the County on Economic Development Efforts <br />Council Discussion <br />Council discussed a Council group photo; identification badges for Council, Commissions, and staff, <br />and City Hall security. Staff will prepare a final draft of the Council goals for approval at the next City <br />Council meeting on February 4, 2013. <br />Adjournment <br />Klein made motion, Weidt seconded, to adjourn at 9:32 pm. <br />All Ayes.
