Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for June 17, 2013 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />Mayor Weidt said it was vital to have the east/west connection and suggested it be reviewed with <br />the next Comprehensive Plan update. He questioned whether the City should be removing <br />planned roads because they hurt development, and suggested that be discussed as part of a <br />development plan. <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to wait until the next Comprehensive Plan update to look <br />at the transportation plan. <br />Ayes: Bronk, Petryk, Klein, Weidt <br />Nays: Haas <br />Motion carried. <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein updated Council on the City of Hugo's Yellow <br />Ribbon Network activities. The next Burger Night is on Wednesday, June 25, 2013 and will be <br />sponsored by Realstar Title/Kim Metzgar. Council Member Haas talked about the book written <br />by Minnesota National Guard Lt. Col. Mark Weber, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in <br />2010. <br />Water Conservation Workshop on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear provided a reminder to the Council of the Water Conservation <br />Workshop to be held at Hugo City Hall in the Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, <br />2013. <br />HBA Business Breakfast on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 <br />The Hugo Business Association will host a Business Networking Breakfast on Wednesday, June <br />26, 2013 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The topic will focus on "Tools to Build Your Business". <br />Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule a Council meeting for Wednesday, June 26, <br />2013 for the Business Networking Breakfast. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Schedule Fire Department Strategic Planning Meeting for Tuesday, October 22, 2013. <br />At its June 3, 2013 meeting, the Council discussed setting a meeting with the Hugo Fire <br />Department leadership team to discuss strategic planning. Council concluded that it was best to <br />wait until late summer/early fall to allow the new leadership team an opportunity to become <br />established. Staff worked with Fire Chief Kevin Colvard to schedule a date. <br />
