MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />TAB DISCUSSION <br />MONDAY, MARCH 5, 2012 <br />PRESENT: Council Members Chuck Haas, Phil Klein, Becky Petryk, and Mayor Fran Miron <br />ABSENT: Tom Weidt <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, City Engineer Jay Kennedy, TAB Chairman <br />Bill Hargis and TAB Coordinator Kevin Roggenbuck <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room at Hugo City Hall. <br />Hargis explained the basic functions of the TAB and described the process <br />• Thirty-three members <br />• Distribute $90 million in federal transportation dollars each year <br />• TAB is a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) <br />o MPOs are required by federal government to distribute federal money <br />• Transit Improvement Plan (TIP) is adopted each year to spend $400 million <br />• Twenty-five percent ($90 million) is through the regional solicitation <br />o Hardwood Creek Trail Project <br />o Highway 61 Expansion <br />There was further discussion on the allocation of funds and regional transportation policy, <br />including the ten categories of funding with each having a scoring committee of 7-8 people. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Bryan Bear <br />City Administrator <br />
