MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 04, 2012 <br />Mayor Miron called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt, Miron <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, Assistant City Attorney Sarah Sicheneder, <br />City Engineer Jay Kennedy, Finance Director Ron Otkin, Accounting Clerk Anna Wobse, and <br />City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Approval of Minutes for the August 20, 2012 City Council Meeting <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the minutes for the August 20, 2012 City <br />Council meeting as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of Minutes for the August 23, 2011 Mid -Year Budget and Street CIP Workshop <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the minutes for the August 23, 2011 Mid -Year <br />Budget and Street CIP Workshop as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Agenda <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the agenda as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Special Event Permit and Temporary Liquor License for the Warrior Dash on September <br />8, 2012 <br />Red Frog Events aplied for a Special Event Permit for the Warrior Dash to be held at Woodloch <br />Stables, 5676 170 Street North (CSAH4). The Warrior Dash is a 3.1 mile race where <br />participants will encounter 12 obstacles along the course. Red Frog Events hold approximately <br />65 Warrior Dash events across the nation each year. Approximately 10,000 people are <br />anticipated to be at this event. Participants are scheduled in waves of 500 people. A wave enters <br />the course every 1/2 hour with the first wave beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the last wave at 4:30 p.m. <br />There will be an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the event. The Dead Broke Saddle Club <br />has applied for the Temporary Liquor License to serve beer at the event, and Red Frog will be <br />utilizing their own security and medical personnel as well as the Washington County Sheriff <br />Department, Hugo Fire Department, and White Bear Fire Department. Staff has worked with <br />Red Frog Events on the health, safety, and welfare concerns related to an event of this size. Race <br />Director Julie Krause and Mike Coco from Red Frog Events were present to provide background <br />on the organization and answer questions from the Council. <br />Klein made motion, Weidt seconded, to approve the Special Event Permit for Red Frog Events <br />and the Temporary Liquor License for the Dead Broke Saddle Club for the Warrior Dash to be <br />
