MINUTES <br />CITY OF HUGO <br />CITY COUNCIL MID -YEAR BUDGET REVIEW WORKSHOP <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 2011 <br />7:00 PM <br />Mayor Miron called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. <br />Present: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt, Miron <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present: City Administrator Mike Ericson, Finance Director Ron Otkin, <br />Community Development Director Bryan Bear, Public Works Director Scott Anderson, <br />Accounting Clerk Anna Wobse, Fire Chief Jim Compton, Fire Marshall and Assistant <br />Fire Chief Marty Schwartz, Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Colvard, City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Finance Director Ron Otkin explained the purpose of the meeting was to discuss a <br />proposed maximum tax levy which would be adopted at the September 6th Council <br />Meeting. He announced that the final budget and tax levy will be adopted at the <br />December 5, 2011 regular City Council meeting (7:00 pm at City Hall). The public will <br />be allowed to speak at this meeting before the final budget and tax levy is adopted. <br />Ron presented a PowerPoint slideshow to review of the 2011 midyear budget to the <br />Council and explained changes the legislature made to the property tax system. The <br />Council discussed the five year capital improvement program, seal coating, and <br />equipment purchases. Council was very pleased with the financial picture of the City and <br />the proposed targets for the 2012 City Budget. <br />Finance Director Ron Otkin will prepare a maximum tax levy resolution for consideration <br />at the September 6, 2011 City Council meeting. <br />Weidt made motion, Haas seconded, to adjourn at 8:31 p.m. <br />All Ayes.
