MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 25, 2010 - 7:00 P.M. <br />Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt, Miron <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mike Ericson, Community Development Director Bryan <br />Bear, Parks and Recreation Commission Chair Jim Taylor, and Public Works Director Scott <br />Anderson <br />Approve Special Event Application and Temporary 3.2 Liquor License for Hugo Lions <br />Club for Radar Run on January 30, 2010 (Alternate Date February 6, 2010 <br />As required by the City's newly adopted Special Events Permits Ordinance, the Hugo Lions Club <br />requested a Special Event Permit for a Radar Run to take place on Egg Lake on January 30, 2010 <br />with an alternate date of February 6, 2010. The Lions Club also requested a temporary 3.2 liquor <br />license to permit the sale of 3.2 beer at the event. Lions Members Cathy Pastorious and Mike <br />Gallivan were present to answer questions from the Council. The Hugo Lions club has worked <br />closely with the Washington County Sheriffs Department, the Hugo Fire Department, the Minnesota <br />DNR and City staff on the details of the event. <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the Special Event Permit for the Hugo Lions Club <br />for a Radar Run on January 30, 2010 on Egg Lake. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Interviews: <br />The Council conducted oral interviews of six candidates for three vacancies on the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission: David Meath, Tom Windisch, Kris Birch, Elvir Rekic, Craig <br />McKinney, and Matt Rauschendorfer. Each applicant was asked six questions. <br />After discussion, Council agreed all were very qualified applicants and selected Tom Windisch, <br />Kris Birch and Matt Rauschendorfer to fill the three vacant seats on the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. This will be added to the agenda for the next regularly scheduled Council meeting <br />on February 1, 2010 for formal appointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Council <br />directed staff to send "Thank You" letters to the candidates. <br />
