Hugo City Council Minutes for April 19, 2010 Page 8 of 9 Schedule Annual Performance Review for City Administrator Mike Ericson Mike Ericson was hired by the City of Hugo as its new City Administrator on April 17, 2000. Over the past ten years, the City of Hugo has conducted an annual performance review of the City Administrator with himself, Council, and City Attorney David Snyder. Miron made motion, Weidt seconded, to direct staff to schedule a date and time on which to hold the City Administrators annual performance review along with the completion of the performance review form. All Ayes. Motion carried. Carnelian Marine -St. Croix Watershed District Accepting Applications for Advisory Board City staff has received notification from Washington County that a term for a board member on the Carnelian -Marine -St. Croix Watershed District will be expiring in June. City Administrator Mike Ericson announced that any resident interested in the board position should make application to the City of Hugo and/or Washington County. Sixth Annual Hugo Kid `n Biz Fest at Oneka Elementary on April 17, 2010 The 6th Annual Kidz `n Biz was held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oneka Elementary School. The event is presented by The Citizen and co-sponsored by the Hugo Economic Development Authority and the Hugo Business Association. Over 2,200 people attended this totally free event. The City of Hugo thanked the businesses in the community who were there marketing their businesses as well as the dozens of volunteers including White Bear Lake High School students who worked the event along with City staff and other volunteers. Parks and Trails Legacy Plan Public Meeting on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 In 2008, Minnesotans passed the Clean Water Land and Legacy Act which increased sales tax to provide funding for regional and state parks and trails. The MN DNR is working to plan how these funds should be spent and they are seeking public input. A meeting has been scheduled for Anoka and Washington County residents at the Washington County Headwaters Service Center in Forest Lake on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 7-9 pm. Haas made motion, Weidt seconded, to schedule May 12, 2010 as a meeting to allow Council attendance at the Parks and Trail Legacy Plan Public Meeting held at the Washington County Headwaters Service Center in Forest Lake from 7-9 p.m. All Ayes. Motion carried. National Wild Turkey Federation Youth Mentoring Program On Saturday, April 17, 2010, Councilmember Chuck Haas attended a luncheon that was held by the Schwieters Companies for the youth, families, and mentors who are involved in the National Wild Turkey Federation Youth Mentoring Program. For the past several years, Joel and John Schwieter, have opened their doors for the National Wild Turkey Federation Youth Mentor Hunt, which helps get many area youth involved in the outdoors.
