Minutes for the Hugo City Council Meeting September 7, 2010 <br />Page 9 of 9 <br />Recognition of Columbus Township Mayor Mel Mettler <br />Councilmember Haas added this to the agenda. Columbus Township Mayor Mel Mettler, 64, <br />has decided not to seek reelection this November ending more than 20 years of service to the <br />community. Mettler has served as a Columbus Township planning commissioner, town board <br />member, town board chairman and is the city's first mayor. Mayor Miron commented Mel was a <br />good leader with great insight. <br />Haas made motion, Weidt seconded, to send a letter to Mayor Mettler recognizing his years of <br />public service. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />2010 Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Hugo City Hall <br />A candidate forum has been scheduled for 7 p.m. on October 5, 2010 at Hugo City Hall in the <br />Council Chambers. This Forum will be sponsored by the League of Women Voters with Peg <br />Olson from the League as the moderator. The Citizen Managing Editor Deb Barns stated The <br />Citizen is presenting this event for the fourth time in Hugo. This forum is open to the public and <br />will be televised on Cable Channel 16. <br />Petryk made motion, Haas seconded, to schedule Tuesday, October 5, 2010 as a meeting to allow <br />Council attendance at the 2010 Candidate Forum to be held at Hugo City Hall in the Council <br />Chambers. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Adjournment <br />Haas made motion, Weidt seconded, to adjourn at 9:13 p.m. <br />All Ayes.
