City of Hugo <br />Minutes for the Emergency Preparedness Press Conference <br />Tuesday, October 6, 2009 <br />10 am -12 pm <br />Minnesota State Capitol <br />Present: Miron, Klein, Weidt, Petryk <br />Absent: Haas <br />Others Present: City Administrator Mike Ericson <br />On Thursday, October 6, 2009, Farmers Insurance Company held a Press Conference and <br />Emergency Preparedness Exhibit featuring the latest in tornado/hail/storm response <br />technology at the Minnesota State Capital. <br />This was an informative event which highlighted the disaster response in Hugo. A <br />special invitation was extended to Mayor Fran Miron to speak at the press conference at <br />10:00 a.m. where he spoke of the May 25, 2008 tornado disaster in Hugo, emergency <br />response, and cleanup. A tour was provided in the latest state-of-the-art mobile <br />catastrophe center. The Mayor and City Administrator meet officials from Farmers <br />Insurance who were in Hugo days after the tornado disaster. Staff will mail them copies <br />of the tornado DVD. <br />Klein made motion, Weidt section to adjourn at 11:47 a.rn. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Michael A.
