CITY OF HUGO <br />PARKS AND RECREATION OPEN HOUSE <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2009 <br />6:00 - 8:00 P.M. <br />HUGO CITY HALL ONEKA ROOM <br />Acting Mayor Becky Petryk called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />Present: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt <br />Absent: Miron <br />Also present: City Administrator Mike Ericson, Public Works Director Scott Anderson, <br />Community Development Director Bryan Bear, and Parks Intern Shayla Syverson <br />There were a number of residents and members of City Commissions in attendance. <br />Residents enjoyed pizza and a PowerPoint slideshow of the City's parks system and <br />recreational offerings from the four school districts in the City. <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Jim Taylor and <br />Rachel Berger, and University of Minnesota Inter Eric CURA Intern Cederleaf spoke to <br />the audience about the facets of the program and how the City will survey residents to get <br />feedback on a proposed future park and recreation program. Staff noted the attendance of <br />original charter members of the Parks and Recreation Committee Pete Pederson and Dave <br />Strub who helped develop the City's original Parks Master Plan, which the City has used <br />since it was completed in 1998. <br />Audience members were encouraged to complete comment cards and stay informed with <br />focus groups over the next two months and complete the survey if they receive one. <br />Klein made motion, Weidt seconded, to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Michael A.
