MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MONDAY, APRIL 7, 2008 Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron ABSENT: None ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mike Ericson, Community Development Director Bryan Bear, City Attorney Dave Snyder, City Engineer Jay Kennedy, Finance Director Ron Otkin, and City Clerk Michele Lindau APPROVAL OF I-35 W/E COALITION MEETING OF MARCH 13, 2008 Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to approve the minutes for the I-35 W/E Coalition meeting of March 13, 2008 as presented. APPROVAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 17, 2008 Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the minutes for the City Council meeting of March 17, 2008 as presented. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the agenda for April 7, 2008 as amended by adding the following items: G.12 — Approval of Application for Charitable Gambling License for Hugo Auxiliary Unit 620 (American Legion) K.1 - Hugo Kidz `n Biz Event Held on April 6, 2008 at the Oneka Elementary School K.2 — Update on Technical Advisory Committee for CSAH 7-8-9 (TAC 7-8-9) K.3 — Discussion on Correspondence from Forest Lake Youth Service Bureau J.1 — Resident Concern Regarding the Comprehensive Plan Process All aye. Motion Carried. PRESENTATION OF GFOA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL REPORTING - FINANCE DIRECTOR RON OTKIN Finance Director Ron Otkin has received notification from the Government Finance Officers Association of America that he has received his 14th GFOA Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting. As Council is aware, this award is special and well earned by finance directors, like Ron Otkin, to recognize them for their excellence in financial reporting. Fewer than t/2 of one percent of finance directors receive this award. Mayor Fran Miron presented Ron with his engraved wooden plaque and publicly thanked him for his 19 years of dedicated service to the City of Hugo.
