MINUTES FOR THE EMERGENCY CITY COUNCIL MEETING, CITY OF HUGO, <br />MONDAY, MAY 26, 2008 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miron. <br />PRESENT: Council Members Puleo and Haas, Mayor Miron, City Administrator Ericson, <br />David Snyder, Bryan Bear, Sheriff Hutton and emergency management personnel, and members <br />of the public and media. <br />l.) Introduction <br />2.) Remarks by Mayor Miron reviewing status of tornado disaster <br />a. He provided a summary of home damage <br />b. He stated that citizens would be allowed back into homes by 1:00 p.m. <br />tomorrow and required to exit by 6:00 p.m. <br />c. A neighborhood meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. again tomorrow <br />d. At 3:00 p.m. press will be escorted in <br />e. People will not be allowed to stay in homes which are red tagged <br />f. Limited access will be enforced — no soliciting, minimum <br />3.) There will be an 8:00 meeting tomorrow to review progress <br />4.) 9:00 credentialing will commence at City Hall <br />5.) Mayor Miron addressed the subject of volunteers <br />a. Saturday, May 31, 2008, will be utilized as a volunteer date <br />b. Home Depot has offered clean-up materials <br />c. Lake Area Bank has a fund available for donations <br />d. John Lillehauser and Patriot Bank are offering interest free loans <br />e. U.S. Bank has also established a relief fund <br />6.) Mayor Miron reviewed Senator Coleman's comments to him of this <br />morning <br />a. Federal disaster designation requires 5.6 million in damage to public <br />infrastructure <br />7.) A resolution was offered declaring a state of emergency in the City of <br />Hugo <br />a. Motion by Mayor Miron, seconded by Council Member Puleo, all <br />adopted <br />8.) Sheriff Hutton revisited the subject of credentialing and explained access <br />limitations <br />9.) The meeting was adjourned <br />
