MINUTES FOR THE MAY 29, 2008 PRESS CONFERENCE MEETING, HUGO <br />CITY HALL, 3:OOPM <br />Present: Acting Mayor Becky Petryk, Council Members Chuck Haas and Frank Puleo, <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson, Community Development Director Bryan Bear, Fire <br />Chief Jim Compton, Nate Ehalt, and media personnel <br />Absent: Mayor Fran Miron, Council Member Mike Granger <br />Council member Becky Petryk talked about the assessed damage for the homes and that <br />the City and County assessors have been in the field inventorying the damage. The <br />estimated damage and personal property loss is expected to be around twenty-five <br />million. <br />Donations in the form of money continue to be accepted at US Bank and Lake Area <br />Bank. The funds will go towards the rebuilding effort in Hugo. The current food shelf <br />and donation location is in the Hugo Fire Hall but will be moved to Schwieters <br />warehouse directly south of the Fire Hall. It will be open daily and this Saturday and <br />Sunday for residents. <br />One dog has been found and 5-7 other pets have not yet been accounted for. <br />Fire Chief Jim Compton took questions from the media. <br />Council Member Haas made motion, Puleo seconded to adjourn at 3:45p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Michael A.
