MINUTES FOR THE EMERGENCY PRESS CONFERENCE, CITY OF HUGO <br />FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2008 <br />The meeting was called to order Acting Mayor Becky Petryk. <br />PRESENT: Council Members Becky Petryk, Frank Puleo, Chuck Haas, City Administrator <br />Ericson, Fire Chief Jim Compton, emergency management personnel, and members of the <br />public and media. <br />ABSENT: Mayor Miron, Council Member Granger <br />Council Member Chuck Haas addressed the media with information related to Saturday's <br />clean-up event and answered questions of the media. <br />A post press conference meeting was held afterward at 3:25 p.m. <br />Present: Acting Mayor Petryk, Council Members Puleo and Haas. <br />Absent: Mayor Miron, Council Member Granger <br />Also Present: Fire Chief Jim Compton and Nate Ehalt. <br />There was discussion on the location of media trucks for the event and they are planning on <br />parking them by Oneka Elementary. <br />Long Term Recovery Coordinator Nate Ehalt reported on Saturday, May 31, 2008, Cleanup <br />Volunteer efforts. <br />A woman, whose house was damaged by the storm, had a heart attack yesterday afternoon, <br />May 29, 2008 at 4:30 pm. <br />Emergency Management Directors from Washington County will open up EOC today in the <br />Oneka Room to help manage the clean-up event. <br />Chuck Haas would speak with the media at the clean up event on Saturday. <br />Council Member Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to adjourn at 3:50 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Michael A.
