CITY OF HUGO <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />DEBRIEFING SESSION ON MAY 25, 2008 TORNADO <br />ONEKA ROOM <br />MONDAY, JULY 28, 2008 <br />8:30 AM <br />Call to Order <br />Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 8:30AM. <br />Present: Miron, Haas, Puleo, Petryk, <br />City Staff: Mike Ericson, Bryan Bear, Tom Smith, Scott Anderson, John Benson, Jodie <br />Guareschi, Nate Ehalt, Rachel Simone, Dennis Fields, <br />Media: Jeff Ayre (White Bear Press), Aaron Rupar (Citizen) <br />Review Purpose of Debriefing Session — June 20, 2008 Washington County <br />Hotwash Session <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson described the debriefing as a tool to better prepare <br />ourselves and the City's Emergency Operation Plan. This is not meant to be a critique <br />but a discussion to further our organizational operation. <br />Washington County Emergency Management Director Deb Paige was present to facilitate the <br />tornado debrief session with council and staff. <br />See Attached documents for suggested improvements to the Hugo Emergency Operation Plan as <br />well as an outline of what went well in the aftermath of the May 25, 2008 Tornado Disaster. <br />Recap and Conclusions - Deb Paige <br />Deb Paige reiterated the positive aspects that Hugo did in the aftermath of the Tornado <br />and the also the relationship building Washington County will continue to pursue with <br />Hugo and the other municipalities within Washington County. <br />Council Direction to Staff <br />Council asked that staff review the list of suggestions from today's meeting and <br />incorporate them into the Hugo Emergency Operations Plan. Nate Ehalt will be working <br />with the Hugo Fire Department officials and Washington County to revise and update the <br />Hugo Emergency Operations Plan. <br />Adjournment <br />Council Member Petryk made motion, seconded by Council Member Haas to adjourn the <br />meeting at 10:29 a.m. <br />
