Minutes for the Transportation Forum
Thursday, October 16, 2008, 6:30 p.m.
Hugo City Hall
The meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Becky Petryk at 6:30 p.m..
Present: Council Members Becky Petryk, Frank Puleo, Mayor Fran Miron
Absent: Council Members Chuck Haas and Mike Granger
Others Present: City Administrator Mike Ericson, Roxanne Emerson - HIS, Paul Colter - Metro Mobility, Barb
Green - Lion Mobile, Kelly Johnson - Lake Area Bus, and Hugo Senior Club Members
Each member of the panel explained more about their transportation provider and how it operates including
whether it provides service to Hugo, which Metro Mobility and Lake Area Bus do not. Kelly Johnson, Vice
Chair of the Lake Area Bus Board of Directors, reported that Lake Area Bus may want to expand their service
district in the future. Lion Mobile provides door-to-door service while Lake Area Bus provides curb -to -curb
service. HSI is the primary transportation provider for Hugo Seniors. Roger and Joyce Amundson stated that
they had addressed the Hugo City Council nearly two years ago and asked them to look into transportation
needs of the community, especially seniors living in townhomes. Many questions were asked of the panel, and
the speakers and the City Council Members stayed to speak individually with the attendees including members
of the Hugo Senior's Club.
Meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Michael A. Ericson
City Administrator
