CITY OF HUGO <br />RESOLUTION 2009-17 <br />A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT OF THE <br />YELLOW RIBBON NETWORK <br />OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, CITY OF HUGO <br />WHEREAS, many families support their military service members who are serving in <br />the United States and overseas to protect the values and freedom enjoyed by the citizens of the <br />United States of America; and <br />WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon Network of Washington County has been formed to <br />connect local military family members with citizens and organizations such as cities, townships, <br />schools, churches, community groups, businesses, and government agencies that can provide <br />assistance and support in various forms to family members including spouses and children; and <br />WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon Network of Washington County will build on the <br />existing strengths of organizations already providing support of service personnel and their <br />families by adding to the community support and awareness for helping spouses and children in <br />ways to lessen their burden while a family member is deployed to protect our country; and <br />WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon Network of Washington County encourages <br />communities and citizens to work together to support the active duty troops and their families; <br />and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hugo <br />acknowledges with grateful appreciation, respect, and admiration, the sacrifices of military personnel <br />who are leaving home and their loved ones to serve our nation; and <br />LET IT FURTHER BE RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Hugo fully <br />supports the efforts of the Yellow Ribbon Network of Washington County to support family members <br />of service personnel during deployments to defend the democratic values of the Untied States of <br />America. <br />Adopted and passed this 18a' day of May, 2009 by order of the Hugo City Council. <br />E �' a <br />4rz)-Oo' -Into <br />M r&!0 <br />ATTEST: <br />Michele Lindau, City Clerk <br />
