RESOLUTION 2008-56 <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING PETE PEDERSEN FOR HIS TEN YEARS OF <br />DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE PARKS, RECREATION, AND OPEN <br />SPACE COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen was instrumental in the creation of the Hugo Parks, Recreation, <br />and Open Space Commission established by the City Council on July 20, 1998 <br />and was an original charter member; and, <br />WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen served on the Parks and Recreation Commission from its first <br />meeting on July 30, 1998 to December 31, 2008 and served as its vice chair <br />for a period of time; and, <br />WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen was an active and involved commissioner who helped lead the <br />construction of several city parks including Lions, Hugo Elementary, Beaver <br />Ponds, Arbre, Oneka Lake, Diamond Point, Frog Hollow, Oneka Elementary, <br />Oakshore and the Rice Lake Park Athletic Complex; and, <br />WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen was an active and collaborative commissioner who worked with <br />the White Bear Lake Schools to provide recreational opportunities for the <br />Hugo youth; and, <br />WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen, as a community volunteer, has made the City of Hugo a better <br />place to live, work, shop, and play; and, <br />WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen, upon his retirement, will be deeply missed by the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission, City Council, City Staff, and members of the <br />Community; and, <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the Hugo City Council officially <br />recognizes Pete Pedersen for his accomplishments and publicly thanks him for his ten years of <br />dedicated public service to the City of Hugo. <br />Adopted and passed this 15th day of December 2008 by order of the Hugo City Council. <br />ATTEST: <br />'chlVli ele Lindau, Ci Clerk <br />ty <br />
