RESOLUTION 2002 -16
RESOLUTION APPROVING REDISTRICTING PLAN REESTABLISHING
MUNICIPAL WARD AND PRECINCT BOUNDARIES
WHEREAS, following the national census conducted every 10 years, state and local
governments must redraw their elective districts (redistrict), a necessary process to insure
equal representation among the wards, and;
WHEREAS, the City used the 2000 Census data to establish equal populations among its
three wards, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council considered the restricting plan at a duly called public
meeting,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUGO, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the redistricting plan
as described herein:
A. WARDS AND PRECINCT BOUNDARIES
The following shall be the precincts and wards for the City of Hugo as required by
Minnesota Statutes 204B.14, subdivision 3(c).
1) The boundaries of Ward 1 shall consist of the following:

2) The boundaries of Precinct 1, Ward 2 shall consist of the following:

3) The boundaries of Precinct 2, Ward 2 shall consist of the following:

B. POLLING PLACES
The designated polling places for these precincts and wards in accordance with
Minnesota Statutes 204B.16 are as follows:
Ward 1- Hugo Fire Station, 5323 140' St. N.
Ward 2, Precinct 1 and 2 - Hugo City Hall, 14669 Fitzgerald Ave. N.
Ward 3 - Rice Lake Park Building, 7032 137"' St. N.
Upon roll call, Council Members voting AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron
VOTING NAY: NONE
Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted by the City Council this 15`t'
day of April, 2002.

THE FOLLOWING ARE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE CITY OF HUGO'S NEW WARD
BOUNDARIES:
WARD 1
Ward 1 shall consist of all that area lying east of Elmcrest Avenue; north of 12& Street; west of
Goodview Avenue; south of Egg Lake Road (CSAH 8); west of Fondant Avenue; north of 141 sc
Street; west side of Egg Lake, west of Fondant Avenue; north of Lower 1470i Street; south of
147th Street; east of Finale Avenue; and south of 145`h Street (CSAR 8/Frenchman Road).
WARD 2 (PRECINCT 1)
Ward 2, Precinct 1, shall consist of all that area lying east of Ehncrest Avenue; north of 145x'
Street (CSAR 8/Frenchman Road); west of Finale Avenue; north of 147th Street; north of Oneka
Lake Boulevard; north of 157th Street, west of Ingersoll Avenue, north of 175th Street; west of
Inwood Avenue; and south of 180th Street.
WARD 2 (PRECINCT 2)
Ward 2, Precinct 2, shall consist of all that area lying east of Ingersoll Avenue; south of 157`h
Street; east of Homestead Avenue; north of 147th Street; west of Irish Avenue; north of 152" d
Street (CR 57); west of Jeffrey Avenue (CR 57); north of 170th Street (CR 4); west of Keystone
Avenue; south of 180th Street; east of Inwood Avenue; and south of 175th Street.
Ward 3 shall consist of all that area lying east of Goodview Avenue; north of 120th Street (CR
7); west of Keystone Avenue (CR 57); south of 17e Street (CR 4); east of Jeffrey Avenue (CR
57); south of 152Nd Street (CR 57); east of Irish Avenue; south of 1470' Street; west of
Homestead Avenue; south of 1570► Street, south of Oneka Lake Boulevard; east of Foxhill
Avenue; south of Lower 1470i Street; east of Fondant Avenue; south of 141` Street; and north of
Egg Lake Road (CSAR 8).
