RESOLUTION 200249 <br />RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />FOR THE RUSH LINE CORRIDOR TASK FORCE <br />WHEREAS, Rush Line Corridor is defined as the North State Trunk <br />Highway 61 transportation corridor from Hinckley through St. Paul; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Hugo is committed to preserving this corridor for <br />future rail transit alternatives; and <br />WHEREAS, The Rush Line Corridor has significant transportation, safety <br />and land use issues; and <br />WHEREAS, There are opportunities for a variety of multi -modal short-term <br />and long-term transportation improvements in the corridor, including bus <br />improvements, commuter, light and freight rail, multi -use paths and Intelligent <br />Transportation Systems (ITS); and <br />WHEREAS, The Rush Line Task Force consists of cities, counties, and <br />towns from St. Paul to Hinckley; and <br />WHEREAS, The Task Force is considering transit improvements and land <br />use along this corridor, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Hugo wishes to collaboratively plan for multimodal <br />transportation improvements to the corridor and for the related land use and <br />development impacts; and <br />WHEREAS, A Joint Powers Agreement is in place for the Rush Line Task <br />Force to direct the consideration of transit improvements and land use along the <br />corridor. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the City of Hugo ratifies <br />the Joint Powers Agreement for the Rush Line Corridor Task Force and identifies <br />Council member Michael Granger as its authorized representative to participate as a <br />member of the Task Force. <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this P day of <br />September 2002. <br />Fran Miron, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Atl� '/�" d�'Y� <br />Mary reager, City Cl <br />
