RESOLUTION 20014 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO <br />COMMENCE EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEEDINGS <br />FOR THE PROPERTY AT 14665 FITZGERALD AVENUE <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Hugo has directed staff to negotiate with <br />Michael and Theresa Steiner to secure the purchase of the house and real property located at <br />14665 Fitzgerald Ave. No., City of Hugo, County of Washington (hereinafter: "the property"); <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the' acquisition of this house and real property is necessary so that the new <br />proposed city hall can be built on the property; and, <br />WHEREAS, as of February 5, 2001, no agreement had been reached concerning the <br />acquisition of the property; and, <br />WHEREAS, construction on the new city hall is scheduled to begin in the late spring or <br />early summer of 2001; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the City Council promptly proceed to <br />acquire the property so that it can be devoted to a public purpose, specifically, the construction of <br />the new City Hall so that construction is not delayed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA: <br />1. City staff is directed to commence eminent domain proceedings at once to secure <br />the property for the above-described purpose. <br />2. City Staff shall, at the same time, continue to negotiate for the purchase of the <br />property with the Steiners, and shall advise the City Council of any proposals for purchase that <br />may be advisable. <br />Upon roll call, Council members voting AYE: Chuck Haas, Mike Granger, Frank Puleo, Fran <br />Miron <br />Members voting NAY: Becky Petryk <br />Whereupon said motion was declared duly declared passed and adopted by the City Council this 5th <br />day of February, 2001. <br />Fran n, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />A4't� okz-x� <br />MaryAQ Creager, City Cl <br />
